Export to Reference Manager

To export citations to Reference Manager, select the RIS format. RIS Format Specifications.

On the References/Capture screen, set the Definition name to either EndNote/Refer or RIS Tagged, according to which you select in OSearch. If the exported files do not download correctly, check the set-up tips below. Windows 2000/XP.

Set-up for Reference Manager in Windows 2000 and XP

Substitute your appropriate drive (e.g. C or D) and the appropriate version number for your software.

• Open My Computer
• Open the Tools menu
• Select Folder Options...
• Select the File Types tab
• Highlight RIS Formatted File (RM8)

The settings in the lower portion of the window should be:

• Details for 'RIS-RM8' extension
• Opens with Reference Manager Application

If this setting is correct skip to the "Advanced" section below. If "Opens with Reference Manager Application" does not appear:

• Click Change
• In the resulting menu, highlight Reference Manager Application
• Click OK
• Proceed to the "Advanced" section below

Advanced:

• Click Advanced
• Actions box should say open (if Actions box is blank, type the word "open")
• Highlight open and click Edit…
• Application used to perform: C:\Program Files\Common Files\RISXTD\Risweb32.exe "%1"

• Check the box: Confirm open after download
• Check the box: Always show extension
