To export citations to ProCite, select the RIS format. RIS Format Specifications.
On the Tools/Import Text File screen, specify the Tagged Format. If the exported files do not download correctly, check the set-up tips below. Windows 98, Windows 2000/XP.
During import, ProCite looks for the "JO" field which is the abbreviated journal name. However, OhioLINK exports the full journal name (the "JF" field). During translation, ProCite's RIS configuration file skips the JF field from the OhioLINK download. To correct this, go into the Biblio-Link II software that comes with ProCite to modify the RIS configuration file. Make sure that the Target ProCite Field for the JF - Journal Full Name is Field #10 and set the JO field to "*Do not transfer".
To import the RIS Tagged Format into ProCite version 3, you need the optional BiblioLink package.
