Database Description: The PAIS International database covers the literature of public affairs – current issues and actions which affect world communities, countries, people, and governments. This database provides access to articles, books, and documents addressing important political, economic and social issues.

The database covers all subjects that bear on contemporary public issues and the making and evaluating of public policy, irrespective of source or traditional disciplinary boundaries. This includes the policy oriented literature of the academic social sciences such as economics, finance, law, education, the military, political science, public administration, international law and relations, the environment, demography, public health, science and technology, and reports and commentary on public affairs from the serious general press.

Indexed materials include journal articles, books, government documents, statistical directories, grey literature, research reports, conference reports, publications of international agencies, microfiche, Internet material, and more. Journal list. The editors analyze materials from around the globe and published in any of six languages: English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.

PRODUCED BY: CSA.
DATES COVERED: From 1972.
UPDATES: Monthly.

Web Links: For some records in this database, PAIS supplies the URL for the full text of the article or document at an external site, such as university, organization, or government agency. To restrict your search to citations that carry these URL's, check the box RECORDS WITH WEB LINKS.

Use the Web Links limit only if you are explicitly looking for free documents or reports on unrestricted websites (government, university, etc.). If you want all kinds of documents, including published journal articles, books, etc., do not prelimit your search to Web Links. Instead, get your search results first and then use either the PAIS-supplied URL, or the link Find It! to find electronic full text or print information. This procedure will find you both free internet resources and those that have already been paid for by OhioLINK or your library.
