Set-up Tips for Export: Windows 98

Your computer may need to be configured to accept citation exports from the OhioLINK interface. Follow the steps below for EndNote or ProCite. Substitute your appropriate drive (e.g. C or D) and the appropriate version number for your software.

Set-up for EndNote in Windows 98

• Open My Computer
• Open the View menu
• Select Folder Options...
• Select the File Types tab
• Select either EndNote Citation or click on New Type button

• Extension: ENW
• Content Type (MIME): application/x-endnote-refer
• Opens with: ENDNOTE6

• Description of type: End Note Citation
• Content Type (MIME): application/x-endnote-refer
• Default Extension for Content Type: .enw

• Actions (if Actions box is blank, type the word "open")
• Click on open then Edit…
• Application used to perform action: "C:\Program Files\EndNote\EndNote6.EXE" "%1"

• Check: Always show extension
• Check: Confirm open after download

Set-up for ProCite in Windows 98

• Open My Computer
• Open the View menu
• Select Folder Options...
• Select the File Types tab
• Select either RIS Formatted File or click on New Type button

• Extension: RIS
• Content Type (MIME): application/x-Research-Info-Systems
• Opens with: RISWEB32

• Description of type: RIS Formatted File
• Content Type (MIME): application/x-Research-Info-Systems
• Default Extension for Content Type: .ris

• Actions (if Actions box is blank, type the word "open")
• Click on open then Edit…
• Application used to perform action: C:\Program Files\Common Files\RISXTD\Risweb32.exe "%1"

• Check: Always show extension
• Check: Confirm open after download
